Qualifications for international applicants:
Duration of the fellowship: The fellow will have a choice of choosing from a one- or two-year track. To best prepare for an academic career, the two-year track with a Master’s degree is strongly recommended and is given preference. Duration of fellowship is flexible depending on sponsorship support.

The clinical component for international applicants: Clinical experience will be limited to shadowing fellowship directors in the Department of Emergency Medicine at UC Irvine Medical Center.
The didactic component: Once accepted into the fellowship program,
fellows will be expected to complete one of the following Master’s degrees or
equivalent:
There is significant
flexibility in identifying the curriculum that will best match the fellow’s
needs.
The administrative component: The fellow will work directly with the EM
residency program director and associate dean for clinical science education.
The fellow can become actively involved in residency education or medical
student curriculum design, development and teaching.
